WTB Cheap/Older GSM Cell Phone (unlocked)

I am looking to purchase a cheap new or used GSM cell phone. I don't need a sim card with it, it just needs to work and hold a charge.
Also it must be compatible with GSM 900 and/or 1800 (yes european bands) and must be unlocked.

This doesn't have to be fancy, just functional.

hmm i have a blackberry pearl 8100 that i have no use for, how do i check if its unlocked. i remember purchasing it before tmobile even offered them.

look under the network settings and see if it is paired with a certain network or not.
unlocked phones are just phones that can be used on multiple networks, and not just tired to one provider.
