    FS: DV5000 laptop - $400

Selling my barely used dv5000 laptop from HP. I bought this a while ago for school and rarely used it. It was for 3d modeling, photoshop, premiere, and other graphics programs. They ran great but always preferred a desktop. This comes with a sweet Wenger case.

    Looking for $400

    Specs are below:
15.4-inch widescreen display for optimal viewing; optional BrightView technology
ATI Radeon™ XPRESS 200M (HyperZ II Technology, SMARTSHADER pixel and128 MB Framebuffer memory x16 DDR1) Graphics on available on select models
Integrated wireless support for 802.11 b/g, configurable 802.11 a/b/g and Bluetooth technologies on select models
6-in-1 media card reader on select models
IEEE1394 port and up to three USB 2.0 ports on select models
    ExpressCard 54 slot
    2 gigs of RAM
6-cell standard and 12-cell battery available for additional battery life
Powerful but portable: weight starting at 6.6 lbs(8) and as thin as 1.38-inch Service and support

I am on this same unit right now... It has done me well.

My question is the "Some Models" BS, either it's installed or not...

I'd assume no 6 in 1, and no bluetooth... like mine.

Well, I can say without a doubt I have the 6 in 1 media reader. I believe this is the CTO so it should have bluetooth.

Thanks for the bumps if anything. But if you are interested in buying the laptop then post away. Don't hijack the thread.

            I see.

            Thanks for the bumps guys.

I'll make it clear what I said in case there is any miscommunication:

if you are interested in buying the laptop then post away.

            It's pretty simple, really. Thanks.

For anyone who is considering this laptop, not to shit on it but it was a horrible laptop. Barely had any use on it and plugged it in one day to charge it and it was toasted. i called HP and their excuse was "it's a common problem but nothing we can do about it, you can send it in and that will be 500 dollars to fix the problem". gtfo. go Dell.

I'm only on my third hard drive, but other than that no issues.

This thread gives me a lot of unexpected joy but the laptop works great.

I have never "toasted" the laptop. You sure you didn't try cramming a fork in the socket along with it?

This was a great laptop. I bought my DV5000t in 2005 or 2006 and it treated me great for 3 years. Then I built myself a better one because it no longer met all of my requirements. I sold it to my dad and it's still running great. If you take care of them, they last forever.

^I had that once. Other than that, I am/was very satisfied with my DV5000.

I agree you should post pics, and I vouch for the goodness of DV5000's.

The only negative thing about this line of HP's I can think of is the HD's not lasting, and the LCD panel's dying prematurely. Just sayin..

the side scroller on my track pad occasionally decides to not work, but rebooting fixes this.
