It appears I am helping a buddy part out a R53 Mini Cooper S (supercharged) with manual trans. Clean car with 53k miles but bad motor, possibly for sale whole or as a shell for the right price. Just throwing it out there, let me know if you would like more info.

Did it pop a timing chain? If so, there is a class action lawsuit about that very issue. He might be able to salvage it and get that repaired. Worth a google search for sure.

Nah, no timing chain, I guess it overheated so they had a head gasket done, then it overheated again and the motor supposedly seized, but last I knew that had not yet been confirmed.
