                  Steven,

You did not just send me to the MAC faq page lol...

Obviously your worried about what happened to your operating system...

Don't install shady programs on your computer and expect it to not have problems with spyware/viruses! Any computer will get messed up if you do that. Do the standard maintenance on yours and you will not have problems. And as always whether its a PC or a MAC, back up your important files because mechanical objects don't last forever (i.e. hard drive)

MAC does not have some special hardware that only they use, there is nothing special about them besides there cool enclosures and expensive LCD screens unless you really like Leapord.

A lot of that MAC stuff is advertising BS. Doesn't make a PC any less reliable. Don't get overtaken by the mac commercials. Mac does a great job at advertising to the uneducated and have a great marketing plan set forth. Be careful.

Actually, I'm not worried about my OS. I had this laptop for sale a while back and took it down. Before I got this laptop I really wanted a mac.

My laptop will probably not sell anyways so no worries.

I appreciate your feedback about me wanting a MAC.
I really want one now because of my college discount on the laptop itself and the programs.
Can't pass up a good deal bro.

Should have waited then. Laptops depreciate fast as you probably are figuring out. Even with the discount I bet you will still be having to shell out a good amount of money so your still out a bunch.

How much % off are they giving?

Good luck getting $700 for that. I have the 17" Inspiron, and it's only worth $600 right now.

So why is that If I go to dell's website and rebuild the same exact laptop its worth the same from when I bought it?

$75-$100 off the actual machine then $20-$40 off the software.

Depreciation. Just like on a car. When dealing with technology like laptops it depreciates even faster.
