New In Box Dunlop Direzza Start Spec *Help me out!*

Ok, so here is the story; these where purchased for the wife's car, which by a mark of great misfortune took on some reasonable water damage the day after Tire Rack shipped them and we had to cut bait on the car. Sooo, they are up for sale. They were delivered to my house Monday and won't even be opened up. There is a rebate on these right now, so I'm willing to give them to you at the rebate cost and deal with the rebate myself so there is no extra hassle for you. I'll also take the hit on shipping so it will be like you are getting them with the rebate instantly and shipped free. I'll even meet you part way if you want for delivery (I live in Brookline, NH). These are aweseome UHP summer tires and great autocross tires as well. Here are the specs:

4 Dunlop Direzza Star Spec Z1
    205/55/16
Brand new, still strapped the way they were shipped in from tire rack

    $328 + shipping

Let me know if your interested.

Haha, thanks. Seems like everyone needs either a 15" or a 17". No love for the 16" these days.

I'm pretty sure I need and want these tires but I am out of country for a while and I can't remember what the Rota's I picked up are. Pretty sure they are 16" but I can't remember for sure. Good luck with sale. If these are still around when I get back, I will hit you up. Thanks.

Sounds good, just grab me when you get back and I'll let you know if they are still around.

I know they are kind of a funny size for a UHP tire. I bought them for my wife's VW Rabbit and a 205/55/15 is stock size. I run 17's on a WRX so they are no good to me, but I was hoping someone around here or the Miata forums might be able to use them. I hate to return them to Tire Rack and lose money when I can give them to some other enthusiast at a good price and lose money. Somehow that makes me feel better about the whole thing. I have about another 3 weeks until I have to return them to Tire Rack, so tell your friends, buy them for your wife's car, or use them as planters in your front yard!

You should really post these for sale on mye28.com

These are a similar size to the ever popular 225/50/16 that they run.

Thanks for the tip! I'll do it right now. I feel like such a lurker these days, I've signed up for so many new forums I don't even own cars for in the last 3 days just to move these tires! Hopefully somone can get some use for them.

You can probably cut your losses and ship it back to TR as well.

Worst case senario I will, but I lose $120 in the process to shipping, and TR gets their tires back to resell. If I exchange for a bigger set to use as backups for my car I still lose out on the shipping plus another $60 to get the new ones shippped to me. If I sell to someone out here I may still lose $60-$120, but at least I get to help out an enthusiast like myself.
