Federal launches the new 595RS, W-rated ultra high performance street tire – latest in the Federal Motorsport 595 Competition Series. It is available in 13 sizes of 15- inch, 16- inch, 17- inch and 18- inch wheel diameters, and series 35, 40, 45, 50.

The 595RS was developed for sports car, sports coupe and performance sedan enthusiasts who simply love driving. Best performance in its class – a street legal competition tire with all the characteristics of a slick.

Designed to deliver Federal’s ultimate dry street performance, the 595RS uses one tread block for the entire tread surface – increasing stiffness, enhancing grip while cornering and optimizing power transition during braking and accelerating. Constant contact with the road provides an on center feel, responsive steering and predictable handling. Federal Technical Center’s newly developed RS compound provides greater road surface adhesion for phenomenal grip under a broad range of temperatures and in damp conditions. High specific surface area carbon provides for quickest tire warm-up time possible for instant performance.

The 595RS was launched at TIS Circuit in Taiwan with editors and reporters from print media present – newspapers, and magazines such as Option, Car & Driver, Motor, European Car, etc. Every guest was given the opportunity to test the new tire, fitted onto a Mercedes CLK320, for a couple of rounds around the race track. Also present was one of our customers, Jacques Gravel, VP Canada Tire, and professional race car driver, who commented after taking the car for a spin, “the tire is extremely responsive and predictable. The 595RS handles very well considering the weight of the CLK”.
