you will definitely rub if you don't roll your fenders. i had 16x8 et20 wheels on my 90 5 lug e30 and rubbed even after rolling my fenders. adapters would give you an effective offset of 0, right?

^Yup, although I think you may be able to get 18mm adapters, for an offset of +2, not a big difference though.

On my E34 they are currently sitting at ET5 front and ET0 rear. I have spacers on it, 15mm front and 20mm rear and have no rubbing.

15mm wow. it could work. i ran them with 10mm spacers on E30 5lug non flared fenders with no rubbing. 215/40 tire.

This was also before I had gotten camber plates.
