Fire Sale !! Selling at a MAJOR loss Awesome Refinished BBS Style 5's 17x8

Fire sale! I'm going to let these go at a signficant loss.
I need the money for other work to be done on my M3 and can no longer wait until spring.
The information below are the facts.

    First $2000 takes them.
Shipping not included should be about $120 in the US
I will not ship outside the US it cost too much

Don't waste my time with low ball offers I'm already going to take a beating selling them at this price.
Serious buyers contact me directly at
    daniel.croteau@comcast.net

The story behind the wheels is this. I own an 88 M3 and wanted these wheels as they now sit for my own car.
So I bought a very nice set of Style 5's and while they where being shipped out to me another set became available locally.
Thinking economies of scale, and with the idea that as long as I'm going through the trouble of reconditioning one set a second is no trouble at all, I bought the second set.

Even though I had estimates for all the work needed to be done the actual cost ended up being significantly higher.
I really didn't realize to the what extent until I added everything up.
I'm now looking to just recoup most of what I have into the extra set without taking a bath.

Here is the actual breakdown of what I have into them:

    Wheels purchase price $850
    Stripping Faces $75
    Powder Coating Faces $200
Stripping, Painting, Polishing the barrels and Lips $600
    Chrome Plating Center Caps $250
    Painting Center Caps $100
    New Emblems $25
    Bolts $580
    Total $2680

Of course I have a lot of time invested as well in disassembling, packing, shipping, reassembling the wheels. So now I have a lot of money tied up in two sets and really only wanted one to begin with.

No expense was spared in the process of creating these one of a kind show piece wheels !!!
These are the wheels that will make your car stand out from the rest !!!, Adding more value than any other enhancement !!!
They are exactly as advertised !!!
A unique opportunity to own a one of a kind set of beautiful high quality wheels !!!

Set of four show quality BBS RC 090 two piece wheels.
    Non-staggered 17 x 8 inch, 5 x 120 bolt pattern, 20 mm offset, 74mm center bore.
These are the Style 5 wheels which are OEM option on BMW
e39 5 series with the sport package.

These wheels have been professionally refinished as follows:
    • Checked for straightness and integrity, these wheels were in excellent condition to begin with. No cracks, welds or repairs of any kind. Found to be true and straight.
    • Disassembled by hand.
    • Barrels and centers stripped in a hot tank to remove the factory finish.
    • Exterior of the barrels clear coated and UV cured for a finish that meets the highest standards of BMW and Porsche.
    • Outer lips of the Barrels polished to a mirror-like finish.
    • Centers powder coated Nogaro Silver in a two stage process base and clear. (This color was offered as on option on the 1988 BMW M3).
    • Center caps show quality chrome plated, outer portion painted with base & clear to match the powder coating.
    • New BMW Emblems installed in center caps.
    • Reassembled using new steel, titanium nitride plated (Gold Finished) bolts. The bolts alone cost $583.00 !!!! ($4.29 each and there are 136 of them used).
These wheels will fit most BMW’s with the included hub-centric rings. Fitment list shown below.
Will fit other makes as well!

New these sell for over $800 each from BMW for the stock painted versions.
Somone will own these concours quality wheels for less than the original cost of the plain OEM version.
There is no way that these wheels could be duplicated for what I'm selling them for.

    Will fit the following BMW’s

    1972-1981 5 series (E21 chassis)
    1982-1987 5 series (E28 chassis)
    1989-1996 5 series (E34 chassis)
    1997-2003 5 series (E39 chassis)

    2004-2007 5 series (E60 chassis)
    1977-1989 6 series (E24 chassis)
    1978-1987 7 series (E23 chassis)
    1988-1994 7 series (E32 chassis)
    1995-2001 7 series (E38 chassis)
    1991-1997 8 series (E31 chassis)
    1987-1991 3 Series (E30 M3 Chassis)

I’m also told they can fit on an e36 but I have no way to verify

These Wheels have a hub center bore of 74mm.
Hubcentric rings will be required for non-E39 models which have a hub center bore of 72mm.

The Hubcentric rings are not included with the wheels

Wow that is one of the nicest set of style 5's I have seen... but honestly it's gonna be a hard sale at 2k, refinished 17" RS's are even a hard sell at that price range... GLWS

These are very nicely done. For the right buyer & the right car - these will MAKE the car. Not very many guys on this board run 5 lug & even fewer would see this price as the value it is. You might try the S14.net board if they were built for a E30m3. In one pic, it looks as if the cap is a slightly different color than the powder coated centers, in another they look pretty much the same - is it just the flash?

I agree, they are beautiful, but I would venture to say that most people here wince at buying a WHOLE E30 for $2k. You did it right, though.

great, so this is now your what, third thread trying to sell these? good luck man, the price is pretty prohibitive for OE wheels, regardless of how refinished they are.

Very very well done. Unfortunately, as said above- even RSs at this price, when refinished are having a much harder time being sold. Economy sucks, even I'm not stockpiling wheels anymore.

Just a correction for you, an e21 isn't a 5 series. It's a 3 series. Good luck with the sale. These are beautiful.

If you look on the far side, you'll notice the flash on the center cap isn't as strong and the color blends back to where it should. Looks like the flash to me. Good eye though ;)

And GLWS. $2,000 is a lot to take a "bath" on. Hope you get what you're looking for.

You got ripped on the powdercoating. The local place here charges $50 a wheel with clear and it includes media blasting first.

Either way, they are beautiful wheel. GLWS
