if 4x100 are tough to find, is it worth converting to the M3, 5 lug suspension? does the handling benefit?

Yes if you do an e30 m3 suspension. If you do a e36 5 lug it still will be better imo be wary some people will hate on the e36 5 lug cause it's not meant for e30's. If it was me and I had cash I'd be e30 m3 5 lug and have the 5 lug hartge wheels already.

Excellent. Thanks for the input. Would you care to guestimate what the e30 M3 conversion costs? it's for this car.

If I had to guesstimate since I haven't priced it out my self since its using e30 m3 parts your probably looking around 2,500. You can however do e36 5 lug for way cheaper by going to a local pick and pull and taking some 318ti trailing arms and I believe you need 96+ m3 housings and spindles for the front I'd confirm this for sure. It really depends what you wanna do. Most people that do the e30 m3 suspension do it cause they are a purist type that want to 5 lug swap it the right way. There is nothing wrong going with e36 5 lug. It's purely on preference and budget IMO

What about the position of the front wheels changing with the E36 suspension. This is an issue that can be modified at an additional cost but it should be brought up. I think that the $2500 estimate has been used for several years and finding one at that cost could take some time.

                Cheers,

They do, I know of a set that was for sale about a year ago and I think my friend still has them. The price then was $3000 unfinished and $3700 refinished. The refinish would be done with ceramic paint on the centers and ceramic clear on the polished lips with chrome bolts.

                    Cheers,

                    Jim

I thought I had seen a set listed in the uK a few years back. Didn't imagine it.
Oh those are so goddamn nice. Love the original unpolished condition. Just for shits and giggles, how much would a set like that cost me if they were for sale.

Is this actually yours? I like the wheels that are on it already personally but can understand wanting the Hartges if its an original Hartge car..
