    May need a new wheel...

Just found out one of the wheels on my M Technic is bent. We're gonna try to straighten it, but that may or may not end up being possible. If not, we're gonna have to replace it.

It's a 15" wheel. If anyone knows a reputable source, I'd appreciate the lead. Thanks in advance!

I saw that...but I’m wondering whether the ones on the M Tech cars are different for any reason?

Should be the same except the color might not match (brand new wheel vs 30yr old wheels).

I’d try to balance/ road force the bent wheel you have and pray your tire guy can get the road force lower then 40ish, if so you shouldn’t feel a vibration even if it’s bent.

Good advice! Thought about that too. They’re due for powder coating so I’ll end up doing all 4 for that very reason.

Any reputable wheel repair shop should be able to remove the bend. I've seen some seriously bent track wheels get straightened perfectly.

We sent it off to a wheel repair shop I've used in the past to repair one of the HRE's on my M3 and he did a really good job on it. But he mentioned that the BBS wheel on my M Technic was a bit more "porous and (he believed) forged too which may make it susceptible to cracking during correction. The bend isn't really that bad, but I figured it'd b worth $150 bucks to try to fix it before I go out and buy a brand new one.

              Thx for the advice!

Great news! Bends corrected...no new wheel needed (thank God)!
