Don't be so quick to call his particular wheel a Borbet .
Every wheel manufacturer made that style in the early nineties ....although the "real" wheel was the Antera 109 and all the others were just copies .

Even though the were wildly popular they only ever looked good in 17's and up .
The 3-spoke fad died out almost as fast as it had started and was mostly due to the lame knock-off that looked like crap in the smaller sizes .

Yeah, I remember back in high school anyone who was cool had those wheels. They were everywhere. Then one day.. they simply weren't.

Oh snap ! Look what I just found while searching for 17" pics :

The 109's striking looks have made it a contemporary classic in every sense. In 1994, ANTERA received the award "Alloy Wheel Design of the Year" for design excellence of this wheel type. Today it still ranks among the most memorable wheel designs in the history of alloy wheel design.

Another novelty was the completely under the center hub cap hidden, integrated air valve, routing the air through a channel in one of the spokes into the tire. This innovation led to a completely uninterrupted, balanced surface of the rim. Even at that time, the wheel was already available in sizes up to 10 x 18 inch.
Found on the Antera site, and pretty much sums up what I said earlier .
But I had forgotten about the cool hidden air valve though .

Didn't some bodystyle of the Ford Probe come with them stock? Or have I just seen a shitload of Probes with them that got them when they were "cool".

As someone mentioned above...they'll look good on a Saab, specifically the 900.

I never understood the three spoke drift wheel fad that came in in early 2000's. s14 and s15 all over the place had them. IIRC they are super advans.( new three spoke, not to confuse with antera's)
