Probably a dumb question but what is the difference between a US and Euro plate filler?

Just the type of license plate it holds?

They look different. Euro is really wide for a euro place, US has a kinda raised plastic filler part that's level with the tail lights on the two sides, since the US plate is less wide than a euro plate. A euro filler will fit a US plate just fine.
