as far as the info Ive gathered over the years, you are correct.

Does the g240 or ZF sit straight?or tilted?.....is your lever centered in the cockpit?....

yep. AFAIK the g240 (and zf) uses the stock transmission crossmember, so they sit straight.

Would love one, but it needs to look a little less because racecar. I.e. shorter rod and able to use the stock knob. Granted I understand it is a race part and 100 percent functional, but I'm still trying to retain an interior because it's still a street car.

I decided to go with a X5 shifter so that I could retain my street car status even though I love the fact that this is so close to the wheel.

This also requires engine/tranny to be solid mounted IIRC.

Doesn't HAVE to be solid. Just not 20 year old rubber since your rod is going to be mounted to the body and deletes the carrier; needs to be straight.

X5 is an awesome selector rod.
If you want the AKG to be shorter in length, it's going to be too short of a throw. The tallness adds good leverage.
The AKG is about as short as the X5/Mcoupe, but at it's OWN height. Any shorter = you're bonkers.

Anyone plan on using this on a DD?

I would love to have the dtm shifter setup. I suppose more than anything I want to be able to use a stock knob.

IMO, this would probably be a complete waste of money for you guys that don't actually take your cars to the track or autox and are concerned about street-car status/convenience. That being said, I plan on using this on my dual purpose car with poly trans/engine mounts and full interior (see pic in post #23) if this group buy ever happens.

OP — How many people do we have that are in for the group buy? Counting bimmerforums (E36/E30) people also?
