I posted this in the last GB thread. This is the set-up I'm running since I still have to have a cat and pass emissions. Headers into Y-pipe and a single 2.5" tube out to the back where there's a vibrant street power flat black muffler with dual 3" tips. Cat and resonator sit in the same location as the stock cat and resonator. Cat back is connected by v-band for easy removal and the location and size of the flex joint makes it so that I don't have to remove the mid-section if you want to work on anything from the gas tank back because it will just flex out of the way.

        And the sound....

The sound is what I'm most excited about and was the contributing factor in me staying naturally aspirated. Good idea on the vbands though. I was going to go with those clamps featured in a few of those photos in the OP, but I like the vband idea better. You get yours trough Vibrant, Steve?

Yeah I bought all of the exhaust parts from vibrant through a local speed shop, it cost about $300. Then I brought it all to an exhaust shop and paid another $300 or so for them to fit it all up. $600 for a headers back exhaust system is a pretty decent price IMO. You'll also notice in the pictures that since I was scrapping whatever was on the car I also got them to cut off and re-use the hanger for the doughnut on the sub-frame, and the mid section has a tab that bolts to the trans bracket.

What shop did you pick up your gear at? I was thinking about zipping down to West Side in Blenheim but the shop you used is probably closer (and will actually have what I want). Also, what did you do for clamps at your collector? Just standard exhaust clamps? (hard to make out in your photo)

I got my stuff from this place http://www.performanceimprovements.com/

And yeah, just regular clamps on the collectors, although there are better options out there, I just liked them because they sit a bit lower they are kind of the first line of fire before the headers get hit... although I have bottomed on my headers a couple times too :x

If you guys are interested and can wait a week or so, I can put up sound clips of my m20-bavauto headers-oem cat-stromung exhaust?

Note that I wasn't able to get in on the group buy, but did pick up a used set locally in decent condition - but, no mid pipes. Fine because I wanted to run the stock cat anyways for smog purposes.

Anyways I hope the stock cat doesn't choke up the sound too much, Bullet Ride's car sounds pretty much perfect for an M20 IMO. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I am super worried about this. Riding on H&R Cup Kit (the sport version) and it's pretty dang low. Hoping I don't have too much difficulties with it or my suspension upgrades will happen sooner than I plan.

Also, thanks for the link. I might head there on the weekend and see what's what.

You can't run long tubes and sit low and not scrape unless you drive like a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.

I do as you elegantly put it 'drive like a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles' on roads I don't know well, but my fear is that the car is too low to even get out of my driveway with the longtubes on.

Plan is to raise my car up a smidge once I purchase and install coilovers. Just didn't want to have to do that this summer and ride out the season on the Cup Kit. Wait and see I guess.

                            Ok.
The only time mine scrape is over tall speed bumps, and yes, I drive like a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles in parking lots.

Everytime this thread gets bumped I get more excited. Cut it out guys.

I know I said I'd send out a message to each of you this past week with shipping costs and final payment details, however I've be hammering on my car, (literally and figuratively) all week to try and get it ready for the first auto-x event of the season next weekend and I just haven't had time to get the info out to you guys.

Here's another bump that will get you excited.... All of the non-coated headers are finished. I will be sending out messages about final payment for all of you non-coated header folks tomorrow for sure. Once I collect all the final payments your headers will ship. Coated headers are being finished up this week and then sent to the coaters, so I will likely be messaging the people who wanted coated headers later this week.
