I have a question about the ceramic coating. Is it dip coated (coated inside and out) or spray coated (coated outside only)?

They said the place that's doing the coating has been doing coatings for 20 years. The coating that is used on the cone of the space shuttle was developed by the guy who's running the shop. With specific regard to the headers, the process is as follows:

        1. Chemical dipped to clean them
        2. Blasted to remove any scale or other debris that the dip did not remove
        3. Coated inside and out
        4. Baked
        5. Blasted with softer media (i.e. walnut shell)
        6. Second coating on outside
        7. Baked
        8. Polished in a bead tumbler

I was told the second coating is done just so that when they are polished it's not removing material from what would be the protective layer.
Oh that is awesome! I'll change mine to coated and thanks for the fast response!

Do the m30 pipes fit in an e30?

It sounds like they should fit.

Any chance I can get ONLY the mid pipes for the e30 325i?

As always, free bump for these headers. They sound pretty cool, and give a noticeable bump right where the M20 needs it. CCing looks awesome and helps with heat, but once it's worn in it takes this sort of neat cloudy gray color that reminds me of old F1 manifolds.

Interesting... how worn are we talking? I've been running mine for a year and a half now and they still look the same.

In that case, I want a set. Not sure about the midpipe tho.

You should probably try to contact that user to see what "extra work" is involved with fitting them to the car.

These things are AWESOME. Very well built and sound fabulous. I get comments all the time on how good my car sounds. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another set if I needed them.

                              Here's how it sounds:

On the fence about buying another midpipe so I can have one with a cat and one without. Will ponder and get back to this thread before the GB closes.
