FEELER: E30 Strut Brace

Hey folks. After a long time working for others and doing my own builds on the side, I have finally made the commitment and opened my own shop. One of my main goals is to use my space to provide the BMW community with some cool parts that are hand made to order, while being sold at reasonable prices. My first piece is an E30 strut bar much like the one I run on my own Time Trials car. I would like to get some gauge of interest before I make a commitment to purchasing materials. I am willing to sell the first 10 of these at $180 (plus shipping). After that, the price will go to $220.

Here are some pictures of my prototype:








Some specs:
-Two parallel 1"x .120 wall DOM tubes (mandrel bent)
-End plates are made of 10 gauge steel
-Top plate is 16 gauge steel with eight 1" dimples for added strength (and cool factor)
-Production pieces will be 100% TIG welded
-Base price is in primer or black electrostatic paint (powder coat, custom colors, or "raw" are also available at an additional cost)

Thanks for the responses so far. What I'll do is get paint on one and take more pics. I'll also try to get my hands on some other cars with different swaps (and an m20) for more test fitting. I can tell you that as it sits the bar is 1/8" from the hood, so I can't go up anymore, but I can bend around if necessary.

Okay, so an update.

I will be test fitting on an M20 car tomorrow, and am looking for a local M30 swapped car. Below you will find pictures of the prototype bar from the other pictures after some paint. The last photo has the weight (9lbs. 7.4 ounces).

As soon as I confirm a good fit with the other motors in the car, I'll create an actual group buy thread.
