Wiring is slightly different on the e36 from what i've read. The yellow and yellow/black wires need to be connected to 12+ constant instead of ground. This is what i needed to do to install a kit on my e34 as well. You should be able to purchase e36 blanks from these guys. http://unitedautosecurity.net/KEY-BL...aspx?sid=13867

That would be a question for viper. The remote frequencies are set from the factory. The brain can be synced to a new pair of remotes by the user. Whether or not my remotes will work on your brains frequency band is beyond me.

    Hey, im interested in ordering!
Just a dumb question though, if I want to have flip out VW style key, but using my Viper brain instead would it be possible? As to somehow change the frequency? As the alarm on my e30 works, so I thought it'd be nice to keep it that way?

    thanks

thanks for making it happen again, very nice feature to the e30!
here is a quick write up of how i installed mine!
basically from the diagram that is included in the system helped me a little bit to understand, i'm only using these feature on my car lock/unlock with the directional light. match the wire like this
    white wire - yellow/blue
    white/black wire - green/blue
yellow & yellow/black wire gets grounded
    black wire - ground
red wire - 12v source (i use the antenna wire)
for the directional light you need to look underneath the headlight switch for grey/white & grey/yellow and match to brown wire from the unit.

Wiring is not my forte :(. Any tutorials, diy, vids, etc? Brief search turned nothing up regarding this specific keyless entry unit.
