hey guys,

so i got a reply from Stromung. the GB prices are set. theres no budge on getting a better discount as that is the best they can do.

they way i look at it, any little bit saved helps here and there. =D

I also just noticed that the M42 guys are wanting to do another group buy thread maybe we could team up and get a bigger discount with more people.

i could always email the guy and find out. ill see if he can budge on a better discount.

I would be more interested if there was a bigger discount. I know OP cant control that. Plus I'm a little weary about last time someone did a group buy with them. I'm not trying to shit on this thread or anything, these are just my legitimate concerns. I think the Stromung sound the best, just wanting a more tempting offer.

Yeah...I hear ya. Stromung is recognized as the BEST for our M20. Again...let's play it out and see. I've got a bunch of parts sitting in garage waiting for me to start working! Doing suspension, brakes, wheels, and short shifter this spring-

hey everyone, havnt had a chance to check the thread all week. work has been pretty high tempo.

@Swendog, yea know exactly what you mean. I've done a couple myself for other forums back in the day. this thread was more to gauge an interest and IF i had enough people i would start the official GB in another Thread. and as you said, it doesn't look like there is much interest in the market as of right now. ill let this run a little longer and see if anyone else hops on. if not ill just have to take it as it is and maybe try another time when there is more interest on the market for this exhaust setup.
also for the discount to be worth it, thats out of my hands as the company sets that discount pricing.

as for Magnaflow, ehh, i like the brand but i think the Stromung is of a high quality and better sound, but thats just my opinion. =D

if we want this one to run we need more serious people to sign up. tell your friends people! =D

I've organized group buys before- when I was in the Pantera community (had a '74 for 10 years). It takes a LOT of patience, and discount has to be "worth it". I also can appreciate the product that we are considering- hand built in general means less margin. It would be easier, for example to get 20% off a Magnaflow then a Stromung. I personal am not in a rush and can wait. But these things take time- from experience, if you have to have a product with a 4 week lead-time to fab and you need it in April, you have to start GB in October or Nov!

Not to hijack the Stromung deal, but if it looks like it may not happen, what are thoughts on Magnaflow cat-back? I have seen and heard it and quality is very good. At $550 out the door, I'm thinking $450-$475 would be a good GB price.
