Ok, so I got in touch with Tubular to discuss pricing and it looks as though the price is going to be $800 per set this time ($750 without the midsection).
This may sound like a huge jump, but they told me that their utility companies have been squeezing them hard. Since the last group buy the price of acetylene has almost tripled and the cost of their electricity has almost quadrupled. They did apologize for there being such a large increase, but they also pointed out that their prices have only increased about $20 over the past 20 years. If they don't increase the price they don't stay in business.
They also mentioned that this will probably be the last time that we will be able to buy headers from them because apparently they have a deal now to supply one of the after-market companies with 325i headers for the same price and it would be a conflict of interest to sell the headers to us directly. You can also imagine that if they are selling to a middle man, the middle man is likely going to be charging $1000+ for them.
For more perspective they said that they've sold 4 separate sets to private parties this year so far at a cost of $870 per set, and compared to the other options on the market that are of equivalent quality fabrication they are still one of the best for the price.
So that being said, if you're still interested let me know.
Thanks.Last edited by Bullet Ride; 08-20-2015, 07:26 AM.

For those interested but not down with the price it may be worth giving IE a call. I have no experience with their product and how it fits, but it's essentially a copy of the Bavauto headers but with 1.5" primaries instead of 1.375". Keep in mind that there's no O2 bung, and no mid-section though, if you add in the cost of paying a shop to do that it probably won't be too far from the cost of these headers.

Yeah, $800 for headers is just so fricking high. I'm admittedly really cheap, but that's Alpina territory. Any company that thinks it's gonna sell these for $1000 a pop is fully out of it's mind.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

I am still interested but after finding out more information based on the comments above and exactly what the $800 will get and if there is still additional costs for it being coated along with the flanges.
