I bought this delrin bushing from Brent from this thread http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=263378
and within a few days it was in my hand. It took more time to clean the parts up than it did to install it!
Here's how to put it in your shifter carrier:
remove the bracket (it's held on with a 10mm nut)
I found it easiest to remove the heat shield but you might be able to wiggle around in there without doing that
put it in a vice
heat up the old rubber piece with a torch
get it nice and hot
fire...fire...fire!
new bushing beveled edge toward the opening
easily presses in
fits like a glove
go grab your dirty shifter carrier (hopefully you've dropped your tranny already so you can change the seals and clean it up)
now clean it up
the casting ridges will prevent the carrier from slipping right in the hole
but nothing a lil grinding can't fix
now it slips right in
if you want to put a dimple in it so the bushing doesn't slip out the back use a punch
perfect...better than new!
