How much more coverage do these offer over the stock flares? Obviously with body work, but with the late model lower arches can I place these higher on the vehicle to accommodate a larger diameter tire?

What is the difference between "early" and "late" model e30 as far as the flares are concerned?
Also could the flares be mounted on an 86' with M3 bumpers?

Early rear fenders ARE HIGHER "CUT" thus the option of having 2 different flares for the rears. The fenders can be mounted to any E30;)
