I will post to see if I cna find a E30 door wih molding in Seattle. I have several Dekra panels sitting here and wre could do a test.

Here is the dekra panel cut. If the plastic molding was prepped correctly it would accept a wrap around of the decal as well. Here it is shown cut...

So the decals are clear except the black outline/numbers?
Still looks pretty good.. expect my order soon! :)

The decal is actually just the black part. No clear material needed as the white is the second color.

Just remove the door molding and place it under.
The molding has 1 screw inside the door and the rest pops off easy lol..
