So the Castro's (the shop that sponsors me) have figured out a way to modify the m50 manifold, so that you can use the factory m20 booster with a 24v swap.
The area of the box that is removed and glassed over to clear the booster is already very restrictive. I will have pics up this week of the area that is cut out, measurements of the original restriction, and pictures showing how small of a difference the modification makes to the manifold.
Here is a pic of the recent swap done for a member on e30tech. This required added clearance because the customer opted to use softer, after market motor mounts, which were not recommended.
The price for a modified manifold will be $200, which includes the actual manifold.
The price for modifying a manifold that will be given/shipped, will be $75.
Either option is MUCH cheaper than buying a new or used e21 or IX brake booster, will be much less work, and will allow you to keep factory brake assist.
More info on the motor mount and arm combination that allows for this to work will be given to those purchasing the manifold, or having their manifold modified.
