Whats the diifference in the bottom half? I thought the only differnce in the M was sway bar link which gets removed in this kit anywho. Sounds like you should send them 4 lug struts, mount the e30 m3 bearing hub assemblies when you get them back, then have a local TIG some sway bar tabs.

lots of E30's in the UK and over here in europe bash around with these coil overs without the strut top re-enforced.
I've your worried, a masson rear strut brace would do the trick.
Rear spring rates are much much lower when you put the spring on the shock instead of the trailing arm.Comment

Just check out Redish Motorsport's website. http://redish-motorsport.com/ and google for other images.
The springs rate vary. You can choose your own spring rate. I did. I ordered 650 front and 750 rears.
It's funny how some guys in this forum say these are knock off coilover or bad imitation coilovers and even like those taiwanese brands. I provided proof other racers on different continents use Gaz in very professional builds... You want to know where those taiwanese companies got the idea for 36 points of adjustments and all their technical babble? They cut and paste from GAZ's website... In the end do they actually re-valve your strut to match your spring? HAHAH yeah right. Gaz actually does, if not, racers that use them will know the difference and they would have a terrible reputation.
What Eric said is correct. Just by moving the spring location from its stock location to the strut location is like increasing the spring rate. If you had the same spring save given spring. Thus some people would want to decrease the spring rate, when removing towards the strut.lots of E30's in the UK and over here in europe bash around with these coil overs without the strut top re-enforced.

I was going to re-inforce my rear tower by welding in Mason rear tower and adding more seem welds.
I ordered mine with the e36 anti-sway bar tab welded to it.
If anyone is interested PM me. I plan to order by the end of the month.Comment

I would reinforce the area... The contruction is very similar, if not the same, as the E36. Which will BLOW OUT/Tear out that rear shock tower completely. Mounting a 750lb spring there and doing nothing? The stock E36 M3 rear rate is ~300 AND it is mounted to the lower control arm and only see about 60% actual rate @ the wheel.

chill out. im just adding what i know to the pot and mixing.I have never seen dedicated ROAD RACING car in either NASA nor SCCA with any Taiwanese brand coilover in their car. The only people I would image using taiwanese brand coilover at the track are enthusiast. I would love to see a build thread posted on the NASA boards where they used taiwanese brand coilovers. Heck I want to see a PRO-3 thread where they used a taiwanese brand. That would be a good laugh. Gee I wonder why those taiwanese brand(s) don't sponsor a title series? Probably because all the drivers would complain their shit sucks. Whereas Gaz does sponsor a race series in the UK. Gaz's primary market is the Europe.
Here are some more build threads of other e30 that use Gaz coilovers. I am sure most of you have seen these thread.

OP, chill the fuck out. Every time you defend your precious Gaz shocks, someone will want to shit on you more but if you present them as a functional alternative to the more pricey brands that we're familiar with you might get some bites.
I'll bite, what are you running? Any pics/info on your setup kicking around here?i get a 2 year warranty, spring length and rates and shock valving to my liking included in the cost of my taiwanese coilovers. but they also make stance coilovers and some oem sutff too....
oh and i track my car, as do many other people who run thier cars with this taiwanese brand.

Not saying anything about the set up but check your pricing.......845GBP = ~1250US$.I am thinking about starting up a group buy for Gaz coilover suspension. Obviously, the more people who buy this kit, the cheaper it will be. I am still working out a final price. I supplied a link where you can read about these coilovers.
Yes you can order custom spring rates.
Prices do not including shipping to the UK and back.
The sales price is based on the you supply of your existing front struts, from which they will build the kits and then dispatch back to you.
GAZ GOLD Height Adjustable Coilover Kit - For racers
normal price is £845 which equals out to $1013
GAZ Height Adjustable Coilover Kit - more of a street kit
normal price is £565.00 which equals out to $774
Not poo-pooing your thread, just make sure you have your pricing set! Cheers.Comment

interesting, would like to see a first hand experience in the states w/ documentation and just how much rear reinforcement is needed. If everything is good then I would sell my GC kit and go for these. Good prices but I think you need a full review and setup before you get people to cough up the dough.Comment
