Buyer be aware! This Luke guy is a rip off. Just when you think he is going to be like any other sound specialized shop, he pulls a fast one on you. Listen to this: First he spends his millions of dollars in developing a stealth box that works for our cars, then he charges a very reasonable fee for it. His last trend is to lower the already great prices even more!!!

He has also been known for spending too much time online helping clueless people like myself.

If you see his posts, please report him to your friends or your e30 camarades, amigos, mates or lads!

Which rear seat do you have?
A regular coupe rear seat without a ski pass so there's no opening to the trunk from the inside.

Most all E30s have a ski pass hole. If you remove the rear seat, it is easily visible under the wool mat, or to see it from in the trunk you need to remove the cardboard "pretty panel" to see the perforated hole in the metal.

Whack that metal panel out with a small sledge and you now have a ski pass hole, a perfect place to get bass into your car.

The advantage of this is that the energy of the subwoofer is forced into the cabin, so you get massive output...if the box is designed to work with the E30 interior it sounds good too.

Ask anyone (and that is well over 300 R3V members now) if they are impressed with the sound and I do believe you would hear a universal "yes".

Here is a 10" box with a woofer installed:

        Same box:

12" Box, they also come partially upholstered:

But the ports come out the top and require cutting:

And they do actually plug into the top of the box, so they seal all the bass into the car.

Just for good measure, here is the 8" version installed: (sorry for the crappy pics, still hoping to get a pro to take real pics)

        thanks!

        Luke

what do I need to do to make your vet box fit in my elec. top vert... the motors are both disengaged and I have a hard top... and I want this box BAD!! Iwas gonna try a custom setup with a solobaric 12 two weeks ago but the depth requirements are rediculous and I threw my 2 12's in a jeep box away when I moved to Hawaii last month.. they sounded like trash so that's where I put them...lol

btw how much shipped to 96734? :-)

Karl, is there any "stuff" hanging below the underside of the top storage, in the trunk? There is zero room for any of the stuff on the left side of the car...so if all of that is gone, all should be golden. Send me a pic of the underside of the top storage area, lets look at it.

BTW, shipping to you is stupid expensive, but you knew that already.

            Luke

the only thing I can see that is maybe 1/2" lower on the left side is the cable shutoff to prevent top movement when the trunk is open... but that can be removed... will my factory trunk liners sorta go back in place once the box is in? I'm sure some trimming will be involved, but it sure would be nice to have a "real" trunk back...

Dude, I completely misspoke. It is the stuff on the RIGHT side of the trunk that has to be worried about...which it looks like you still have some stuff there. Do you know if any of that relay system is in use still?

The "model" is coming back here soon, I will get you some decent pics so you would know what you are up against.

If I once had a power top but everything is removed I'm still good right?

the only thing I still use in the "power assembly" is the boot lid motor to lock the boot lid in place (pushin it in to engage the gears)... everything else is done by hand... so I can remove the top motor and all that other crap... but I think the tray for the top is the same depth etc right?

none of the electrical functions are in use any longer...

Did you get a chance to take some clearence measurements for the vert box? If I know how tall it is and how thick the top is I will know what I need to remove to get it to fit my elect. Top...

Looks like I'm just going to have to remove all my electro top parts to get some bass in this thing. This POS Kicker compact is crap unless you sit in your car and listen to music with out driving it.

I mean honestly, what's more important than quality top down tunes?! I've gotta have beats or I'm not happy.
