I need to get an approzimate # of how many people would be interested in this aluminum tranny mount for a e30/m50. Does anyone that lives near Boone have a M50 in their E30. It would help a TON to have a car w/ the M50 on hand.

I would buy one if it was cheaper than just taking an extra tranny bracket I already have and getting it modified at a shop.
Also, I can't say I'm definitely interested until I see a working prototype, and some guarantee that every one made would be exactly the same.
"It would help a TON to have a car w/ the M50 on hand" is an understatement. You can't really do it without test fitting. I would say it's a must to have an M50/S50/etc on hand. -
^^thats fair but i can assure you that they would all be the exact same. I know i need a car to fit it. I said it would be a ton easier b/c i am planning on doing the swap later so it would be a ton easier if I did not have to do the swap right now so we could fit the tranny mount. It would also make the wait longer if I had to do my swap first.

Not to volunteer his car, but we finished up the swap on Spoon's (matt_spoon) car not long ago, and we're in school in Cullowhee (a little ways SW of Asheville). He might could lend his car to it.

We wouldn't sell them if they did not fit right and if they were a terrible price. Thats why I need to see about how many people want them. Remeber the weighted collars? We found something that would work for cheap and are not even getting ANY profit on them. What method of manufacture are you thinking? CNC, water jet cut, bash and weld????
Also, does anyone know if using a particular custom tranny mount (and I'm assuming this for an M50 with E30 Getrag 260 tanny???) would then require the use a particular engine mount? Just wondering if some of the variation in engine mount options would change things enough at the tranny mount to be an issue (it probably isn't, but having not done a conversion before, I have no idea of the variation between swaps).
