Mark's chips are the best.
Do not give Mark a hard time.
I believe the 93oct version is available for the same price. I have bought a few for different engines (93oct) and the result is always big smiles.
Here is a FACT: I did five 0-60 runs in a bone stock 5sp iX and averaged 8.3sec on a full tank of 93. Pulled over, put the chip in, did five more runs and averaged 7.6 sec. By best run without the chip was 7.9, with the chip it was 7.3. That's an 8% gain. Multiply that by 170hp and you get a 13.6hp gain on the M20.
No, my testing was not done in a vacuum, no, 0-60 times are not a direct reflection of hp, no, I haven't paid $300 for dyno runs. But these are real world numbers for you.Last edited by fronton; 04-27-2012, 05:25 AM.Comment

Mark, do you have a chip upgrade program? I have one of your chips in my E34 540i/6, but I think it's for an auto as the revs hang during shifts. Can I trade it in for the proper chip?Comment

I haven't looked in this thread for months, and just saw a bunch of questions here. You can get almost any chip for $199 if you use the link which I didn't remove, it should be on the first page.URL: www.dsylva-tech.caComment

I didn't notice a few posts here, do you still need a chip? You need the 0 261 200 027 chip for an eta, but it's best if you check if your 027 has 24 or 28 pins. A small number have a 28 pin chip.

Real world numbers vary greatly on such old cars, as the condition of the motor, AFM, plugs etc all vary. You should easily see at least 15 hp (conservative) on an M20 with any of my M20 chips if the motor and all other sensors are in ideal condition, you may see 3 hp if it's not. The maps under the stock rev limit are identical in both stock and raised rev limit chips. A raised rev limit is mainly useful in autocross where you may need to rev closer to the redline instead of shifting.URL: www.dsylva-tech.caComment
