Very nice work. I do have a few questions:
Do you have a projected timeline for when datalogging will be available?
What is the targeted data collection rate?
What is the refresh rate of the displayed Wideband gauge?
Is there an easy way to get the MAP sensor output to send it to Microsquirt?
I'm considering this as an option for a KE-Jet CIS to EFI conversion on my Merc 2.3-16 Cossie where I'd like to do MAP and AFR data logging pre-conversion and then have the same set up be available after the conversion.
Thanks.

I was out of the country last week, (had a distributor setup, all orders went out same day or, if ordered late, the next) just got back into town late last night - feels good to be back!
I'm starting to expand a little outside of the e30 community. I signed a few deals with other large forums to do some advertising on so I'm gearing up for that by building stock and getting all the shipping supplies at the ready. Pretty excited to start growing this thing over the next few months!Leave a comment:

It took six days but the latest update (v1.0.1) for iOS is finally approved by Apple and live in the app store. It should update automatically as it propagates through Apple's servers. There's some good Bluetooth connection bug fixes in it so make sure you get the latest!
Right now I'm working on a couple of concepts: the first is displaying the data on a Cartesian plane so you get a sort of "instant" data-logging that can be pitted against any other sensor. There are some really cool libraries for iOS and the Android SDK that I'm playing around with - more on that later.
The other is customizing the gauge faces to be just about anything. To make it more user-centric I'd like to implement a way to upload an image of a gauge face (such as the beautiful gauges Fusion created earlier in the thread) and map the needle to the min and max points on the image. As long as the gauge image is linear it should be pretty straight forward.
Anyway, thanks for the orders this week!Leave a comment:

Pushed out a couple of updates for the Android version to get the interface on par with the iOS version. Removed some superfluous stuff on the dash board and updated the icon. Fixed a bug that would kill the app occasionally when disconnecting from the controller.
Also pushed out an update for the iOS version tonight (that probably won't be live until next weekend). Fixed a scanning error when searching for a controller and improved some of the background processing.
Thanks for all the orders so far guys - everything has been sent out except for the two orders from today. Those will go out first thing in the morning. I'll be sending PMs to anyone asking for an iPhone/iPad version tonight.Leave a comment:

It will work great on the 5th gen iPod touch (the latest generation)! The reason only 5th gen is because it's the only iPod Touch with Bluetooth 4.0 so far.Last edited by codrum; 03-12-2014, 10:35 AM.Leave a comment:

Very nice, has to feel good to get past that hurdle. Installed it on a 4s to have a look and installed with no issue.
Now you need to port it over to work with Megasquirt so I can start telling all the people that hit me up if there is iPhone software that works with BT!
There's so much going on with MS I don't know if it translates well to an app. I use MS2 for tuning and prefer to have the laptop plugged in while doing so. Once I'm pretty happy with the tune I use my phone with Chariot Gauge to monitor and maintain and tuck away MS until I need it again. Although a dash mounted tablet/iPad with MS would be stellar..Leave a comment:

This is sweet! Will it work with an I-pod Touch for us non-phone owning bastards?Leave a comment:

Thanks man - let me know how the install goes!
Also here's the demo video Apple requested that shows how quickly Bluetooth 4.0 connects, the responsiveness of the gauges to data changes, and the max-value hold functionality. Now that it's starting to get nice in Denver I have my GoPro rig setup and I'm working on a better "in-action" video with the e30.

After waiting for over a week, providing a demonstration video, and fretting over whether the app would be out-right rejected it was finally approved!
Link: Chariot Gauge iOS App
I screwed up the screenshots so it only shows the night mode on the iPhone 5+ and I have a few updates ready to go that I'll compile and submit an update later in the week. It's crazy but you can only update the screenshots when you update the app which then has to go through the week long Apple update process.
I'll make it more official a little later, for now please feel free to download the app and see how it looks on your iPhone/tablet/iPod touch. The iOS hardware controllers are tested and ready to go and can be ordered through my site www.chariotgauge.com. If you use the app and it works well for you, please review it - it helps immensely! I would love to hear any initial reactions or comments. If you find any bugs I'd like to get them knocked out in the first update this week so let me know.
I've worked on this almost everyday for the last four months so, tonight, I drink. - Cheers!Leave a comment:

woo - parts for the next batch have arrived. I've got a long weekend of building ahead of me..
On the app front - Apple is taking its sweet time getting to mine. Day seven and it's STILL listed as "waiting for review" according to the app dashboard. I blame all of the Flappy Bird knockoffs that are flooding iOS and Android right now
More to come..Leave a comment:
