From just the airbox/alpha N, I do not see that happening,
    not that much power gain.

To get that you also need to do sport cams and hopefully the
rest of the topend setup suits.

steve he's talking about an s52 though so the gains are probably much larger, although 60-90 seems high.

They have been throwing around prices for this part and that part, this car and that car. I want to know what the whole setups run for an M20. One price for the carbon box, and another for the aluminum one.

same here and also would that be a price including alpha N or not? and is Alpha N in some way superior to running a Megasquirt or are they similar in performance? What kind of a price are we looking at without Alpha N included?

Since how it seems to be everyones question.
                      Add Diblius 1450 euro
Add Diblius 300 euro alum airbox

1,750 Euro (EUR) = 2,203.62 US Dollar (USD)

Or if you want the Carbon Fiber Airbox:

                      If 900 Euro:

2,404 Euro (EUR) = 3,027.14 US Dollar (USD)

                      If 1100 Euro:

2,554 Euro (EUR) = 3,216.02 US Dollar (USD)

If that's confusing he can come in and correct me.

the prices are almost right Ian, but you made a small mistake adding.

                        option a) 1450 ITB + 300 ITB metall plenum = 1750 euro
                        or
                        option b) 1450 ITB + 950 CF airbox = 2400 euro

based on conversion rate 1 euro = $1.27 USD (which fluctuates
                        lately between 1.23 and 1.29)

                        option a) $2222.50

                        option b) $3048

a Maxx alpha N setup is not included. It is 750 euro for the alpha N,
harness, sensors, software and basemaps included as well as
free support. These alpha Ns are installed on S14, M20, M30,
                        M50, M88, S38B35 (M3 / M5 / M6). The advantage of Maxx alpha N
is its ease of use, laptop programmable on the fly (in car while
you are driving). It does fuel tuning only which is sufficient in
normal moderate tuning situations. Ignition modification are
not required unless much has changed to the motor. Needless to say
we have all the source code for M20/M30/S14/... ECUs
anyway and can make binary files to be burned into eproms.
We also have the alpina 2.7 software (various versions).
This system is proven and has an established user base. Martin and I
provide support. ECU chip service is either free for alpha N
or for a very moderate price (to cover costs) for non AN customers. We are both engineers in electronics and years
                        of automotive experience.

here is an example of what an alpha N / airbox s14 motor sounds like:

and here is another sound clip at full chat on the nuerburgring:

pictures of airboxes can be seen here:

Your kit seems cheaper than BMP's kit too. I don't think anyone here has owned up and bought their kit. I run that vintage Split Second MAF w/ my m20. I guess that I could run it on your kit just as well. Maybe go alphaN later. I think you can count me in on the GB, e30m20b25

What kind of gains could I expect from an m30 with this setup? Say the m30 has a fully built head, port and polish and all the high performance stuff, and a good street cam. Would it be wise to get higher compression pistons as well?
