It's really easy.Originally posted by optimusp517Hmmm is there installation instructions? lol I've never done a chip before.
Disconnect negavetive battery cable.
Remove ECU.
Pry tabs up and remove cover.
Discharge any static electricity by grounding yourself (touch something metal).
Remove old chip carefully with small screwdriver.
Install new one making sure the tab is on the right side.
Put ECU back together and install.Comment

Now question how do you know which tab is on which side? I justplugged it back in and it fits fine...sigpicComment

Why?Originally posted by E30_pilotTo the First person to get/install chip, you should do a DIY topic of installing the chip for future reference.
I just gave you all the instructions you need. Really, believe me when I tell you: it's easy. It's not brain surgery.Comment

Yeah it's pretty easy, I knew everything until I had to look for the chip, but that was covered under the plastic cap thing. Snap on and snap off. Quick and simple! Let me tell you the car does pull after 4k and pulls continously! You can feel a difference in performance and I believe the car runs smoother as well! Honestly I think it's one of the best investment/mod to do.sigpicComment

So, does this mean people have received a few already?
I'm almost on empty so I hope filling up with 91/93 sometime today will pay off sometime tomorrow.Comment

I have already received mine, since Friday I believe. Only problem, my car is still in pieces as I have not finished, nor do I have the motivation to finish, installing my new rocker arms, timing belt, and water pump. I'm so damn lazy, can someone local come over and fix this for me? Ill pay/buy beer!!!!Claus Luthe is my hero.

Timing belt and water pump can be done simultaneously, rocker arms I have no idea... but locally I'm not there or else I could help try get those taken cared of.sigpicComment
