Ok.... Brake ducts are something I was thinking of... and fog light deletes. The problem with a CF iS lip... how will you attatch it? I dont think I could compete with the price on that piece either. A new one is 140ish and I think the CF one would be in the 150-200 range... probably closer to 200.

As for the status at the moment. I talk with the guy almost nightly about prospects and projects. I've traded pictures with him and I've placed a $1200 order for my own car. I currently have a person stateside gathering parts to be sent for molds and in about 2 weeks I'll have all the parts from Germany sent to him in Canada for molds. So hopefully within the next month we should start seeing some solid answers.

The only part I might remotely have a hard time getting my hands on is a mtech I wing. And only because I don't want to pay top dollar for it since I don't need it to resell.... only to make a mold from. We'll see what happens.

You're sitting on a gold mine Trebek.

Would be pretty awesome to have a whole bunch of custom CF parts especially the cool rare factor. I'd buy quite a few things. I want a riced out real cf car. Hell let me just give you a car. You guys can even keep it for a year to get perfect. I just don't want to be able to see metal once I get it back. :)

            Seriously though this sounds awesome.

He's already started production on almost enough parts to have a full SRT in CF. If I thought it would sell, I'd have him mold everything I could get my hands on. The problem is.... some pieces aren't cheap and you guys are :D

The parts won't be ricey or lacking quality. They'll all be comparible to any name brand company producing CF parts. I'm sure after the first few pieces are made and the majority of people who want them, get them..... I'll find more stuff to be made.

The mtech I wing will be a direct mold off the original. I think it will look decent as you won't have to worry about the rubber dulling or the screws rusting. One of the concerns is how to mount it. I'm not sure if he's going to be able to do it as a solid piece, a hollow piece or a 3 sided piece. I'm sure he can do any of the 3, but the cheapest is going to be the 3 sided piece. I'll let him make that decision once he gets the piece and ask for opinions as needed.

Perhaps he could make it as a three-sided piece with nuts cast into the underside so we could just mount it with bolts threaded in from the underside? Just an idea, I know very little about carbon work so just ignore me if I sound like a babbling idiot right now.. :D I'm really looking forward to this, I just got a job at a BMW shop and I think most of my paychecks will be going into my car. I'd love to put some carbon parts on it to set it apart a little!

I know it's a long shot and wouldn't be cheap, but maybe some sideskirts or other body panels...?;)

The idea of panels is hard to do other than maybe fenders just because they serve no real support purpose. A hood has some integrity in a crash and is designed to slightly deflect the blow.... a fender just crumples. The side skirts..... maybe. That would probably be a one time offer and limited to like 10 slots. Once they are done..... they'll only be offered again if enough people express interest. Small parts I will probably get runs of 10-20 on and sell individually. Large parts I'll probably put a GB together for and place the order all together. Outer door handles will probably be a group buy specific piece.

Custom one offs...... He's doing me some C pillar with custom inlaid graphics. He's also tossing around the idea of overlaying a trunk with inlaid raised lettering for me. He knows he can do it, but he's not sure about the durability and if it will stay or not. He said he can do a trunk OVERLAY for you guys, but he can't do whole structural pieces.

Regular e30 fenders would be just fine.

Side skirts would be awesome, especially if it was the sort of thing that could be painted partially but leaving some carbon spots showing through... My friend has some like that on his e46, I'll try to find some pictures of what I'm thinking of. Could be really classy I think! :D

Carbon Fiber trims for the interior would be cool. Also a rear valance for us with 87's would be nice too.
