The one I have pictures of above is a Euro-filler. I suppose both fit the 88+ cars. I have the part number for the European pre-88 and 88+ plate fillers.

That's the pre-88 euro style filler.
BMW part # 51-13-1-888-463 and is for the US plate with euro style.
$28.10 with CCA discount, not $50 as someone said earlier.
This is the Euro plate filler, another pic:

You have the US plate filler.....which is actually quite expensive from the dealer.
Someone is telling lies to you. You have a US plate filler.Comment

Franz, I'm not sure how much someone said, but it was more than $35, that's what I remember. That CCA price (US model - euro style pre88) was from Greg. Seems easy enough for the guys with early models who feel left out of the Euro Love.
I think the # for pre88 you gave was the euro model, with different screw holes, and the one I got from Greg's post was for US made Euro-style fillers.
Euro fillers have to be drilled to got on US cars. US obviously don't.
Franz, you got a US filler right? Post a pic of it and show Jonathan.
PROOF, my plate is EURO:

Edit: Looked at your site......don't think you'll mind Franz:
