    Interest in swaybars? 25/22

We are putting swaybars into production, starting with E30's!!!!!!
    woot!

Unsure about where pricing is going to land, but, want to gauge interest.

    Potential specs:

25mm Front, solid core Chromoly, 3 way adjustable
New poly bushings, May or may not re-engineer endlinks.

22mm Rear, solid core chromoly, New poly bushings, will re-engineer endlinks. possible 2 way adjustable.

I am undecided on the final color, but am leaning towards making Orange our signature color.

    any interest?

Aren't those the same sizes as the IE bars?

What is going to make your product more desirable than other bars on the market? better? cheaper?

The final dim's are not going to be exactly 25/22 but will be very close (unless we decide on softer/harder). I just checked the IE site, and it looks like theirs are 25/22.

As of right now, the prototype is getting built, and will be going onto a couple different E30s (my 335, an S5x, and stock) to make sure the balance is what we were hoping. The reason we decided on a 25/22 kit is by suggestion from local track-rat E30 owners.

All of the final specs are 100% TBA at this point, the prototype should be done by next week for testing.

It will be totally impossible for me to say that my bars will be "better" than others on the market, because what constitutes "better"? I do know that build and materials will be high quality, but physical feeling and handling is a trade-off and will vary by the individuals preferences.

Pricing will be competitive, but like I said, until we have solid grasp on what will all need to be engineered, I can't guesstimate the price.

Any particular reason you are trying to go with solid core chromoly. At 25mm what I would be more interested in is saving weight over the 22/19mm combo which is already a proven winner. With that you can easily keep/increase torsional rigidity with hollow tube bars as well as saving about 10-15lbs in the process. With the 22mm rear bar, serious reinforcements are needed as well which should be engineered into your sway bars.

As someone entering the aftermarket parts business, I think you should provide us with more details. Such as what types of bends and what hardness metal. Chromoly only is a type, but there are tons of varieties of chromoly. There is also a ton of engineering that goes into the bends of sway bars that affect its rigidity. I think you are attempting the 'trial and error' method which works, but you would be able to provide a far better product if you had a new bar specifically engineered. Taking a piece of 22mm chromoly rod and bending it to match factory alignment points and mounting points is not nearly enough.

I too am in the market for sway bars, but I have also done a ton of research and know what makes good bars. I would be curious about your manufacturing process. I know of a company who was building bars for Porsches who was using a $150 crush bender from Northern Hydraulic for the bars. I will leave it like this...the car ended up totaled.

I have the 25/22 setup on my eta with H&R race springs and it definately leans towards oversteer while auto-x. I am going to try 21/14.5 on my turbo car with stiffer springs to see if that is any better (I am pretty sure it will be).

Let us know what happens. I am in the sway market.

Also, with the "kit" will you be supplying re-enforcement tabs, maybe include an M3 end link for the front and a piece to weld onto the strut housing.
