    Feeler: Samco Silicone Intake Boots

Hi everyone, I emailed Mark Hale at Samco, and he said that they would be willing to manufacture a silicone intake boot for our cars, if we get 15-20 confirmed buyers. The only catch is that they need 15-20 buyers for each type of boot, so we would need that many buyers for m20b25, m20b27, m10, m42 separately. I'm not sure how different each boot is. They also need someone to donate a factory boot for fabrication. If we get this one going for the m20b25, I will supply that to them for that engine.

Pricing should come in right around $100, but he said they cant lock down a price until they have the stock boot. check http://www.samcosport.com for comparison prices. If there is enough interest, maybe we can negotiate some sort of introductory discount.

They could also make us silicone radiator hoses, but I thought we could start with the intake boot to keep it simple.

Well, count me in for a boot for the m20b25, who else is interested?

Whats the point of a silicon intake boot... Most guys who run boost use megasquirt and ditch the whole boot/afm assembly. Factory replacements are cheap (~$25) and work just fine.

I'd think there would be more interest in radiator hoses...

I'm with Dan on this one. I would be much more interested in a group buy on Radiator hoses.

I would be in for radiator hoses, as would most turbo guys since they run much hotter and need the cooling/protection.
I have Samco radiator hoses on my S14 and they are awesome. Been on there 3 years and have never leaked a drop. I got the upgraded stainless clamps too which help aswell.

I believe their is a person already selling m20 coolant hoses. You might want to give him a shout. He posted in this forum pics, prices and color choices, he goes by the name of zaust.

I bought my intake boot brand new for $6 from Pelican parts. I would be up for the M20 hoses.

Early M20 and later M20 cooling systems will not interchange and use completely different hoses. Not sure on the bypass hose though.

Also for intake boots there are quite a number of M20 boots. For the USA the 325e boot, the super eta boot/88 325i boot, then the 89+ B25 boot. None of them will interchange because of the location of the brake booster vacuum hose and the orientation of the idle control motor
