hmm. so the bass isnt coming from the sub poking through the skihole then rite? its coming from the porting tube in the rear deck? i ask b/c i dont have an armrest rear seat, and with the seat in place, wouldnt it muffle the sound coming out of the sub(this only applies if the bass note is not coming from the porting tube.) im an audio noob, so i just need to get the concept straight in my head. i really really like the box with the 2 porting tubes where the origional rear speakers were, looks trick.

Worst possible seat choice is the thick leather "Sport" seat. Best choice is the armrest seat, cloth or M3 or even pleather is better than Leather Sports...

So how is this going to work? Are you going to set an end date for the groupbuy or start working with people individually as they commit?
As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Count me in. After that whole deal with my boss, I want to upgrade the stereo at the very least.
For a quality product from a true audiophile, I'm down. Are there better 10" subs I should look at for the box Luke? Any suggestions for better sound would be awesome, I'm looking at a CD 43 as well.
One more thing, can we add an amp onto or inside the box for a more clean look? Or would that be a no-no?Reminiscing...

Hey guys, bumping this back up. Scoobeesnaks box will ship monday, I have pics of the mods necessary to make this work in your car. In a fit of old school, I cut the holes using tin snips, with a 1/4" of "clearancing" with a ball peen. Simple stuff.
I have a second single 12 box ready too, and should be building a couple of 10 boxes shortly. This issue with the 10 box is kind of complex. The stock speaker locations are 33" apart...the box is 35" wide. This means not too much spare room to fit the ports, so the box cannot be easily made narrower. The other issue is that the depth of the top of the 2 cubic foot single 12" box is only 6", so to build a 1.4 cubic foot box is a real challenge, since it needs to be at least 5.5" at the top to fit the port tubes, plus to make the woofer have adequate depth...well, it is a challenge to build them "small" enough.
If any of you guys might be interested in going over to single 12", I will have pics up shortly.
Thanks for all the interest.

Sweeet, guys. Building starts shortly. I will have pics of the first one up ASAP.
Run out to your car with a tape measure...measure 12" from the back seat, on the floor.
If you can live with that, that is the 12" version. If you do not have premium sound rear pods, let me know. I can do other stuff, but having a totally stock look is kinda nice.
