I didn't see that you had to have their shortened koni's to be able to shorten the strut tube. But in another case, I thought GC provided the new spring perch(piece of steel piping). But, I guess I was wrong. Because everyone said it didn't come with that piece. Anyways, I'm out of the group buy if you have to have the shortened koni's to be able to go lower in the front. Thanks.

I would think they did, but everyone that kept answering my question said that the kit didn't come with the new spring perches. Thanks for that information though. I am out of this group buy now, because I thought you could shorten the strut tube and run any shock(I'd be running bilstein sports). Sorry about that.

I had a set of Bilstein's shortened and revalved for my Camaro back in 02 I think.....The cost to shorten was an additional 60 bucks....on top of the revalve...

FWIW those shocks worked great, and I only moved onto something else becasue of the lack of adjustment.

You shorten it yourself, or you can pay for GC to do this for you, or take them to any good shop that can do it as well.

            Thanks.

what is the advantage of shortening the strut tube. you can still adjust the ride height without shortening it.

You can go lower if you shorten the tube. The guys who do the stretch tires do it a lot.

Jean, what spring length do you have on your other set of coilovers. I was thinkin you had some on your other e30 and curious on the lengths, I can't find anything on it in a search.

Is it possible just to like cut the stock spring perch down to a smaller diameter then slid the Spring adjustor over it ?

I believe so, but not positive.

If this is in fact True what spring length would be the best option to eliminate front fender gap or at least minimize alot more than H&R Race

I'm at the same point as you. Not sure, and yes I want mine lower than my h&r races too.

That's exactly what I was going to do. But after getting the coilovers, I wouldn't have enough money to take my bilstein's to get them shortened.

                            $60 for each shock?

Maintaining suspension travel between the strut tube, and camber plate....Before being WAY into the bump stops which you damn sure need....

Yes which is darn reasonable. BUT that was ON TOP OF having them revalved. They were already in there.
