I know I'm beat... (at least on X braces)
But should I go down screaming or just give up?Comment

You still need proof that it's yours and a creation date on an image file doesn't cut it. I assume you have some other form of federal documentation that proves the photo is yours?'89 325is S50 Track Montser

Dude...I don't even have cable...
I did successfully sue Capitol Records in 1988 for illegally using an image I shot when I was working as a photojournalist...$26,000 if
I could pull something like off that again I could afford cable.
I have to split so I'll check in here latter.Comment

I have image authentication in the cameras I use (something that the digital age made nesasary for photojournalists).
Have fun...I'll check in latter tonight

In 1988 you had negatives that you could mail to yourself though, now in the digital age, concrete evidence of something being your work is slim to none unless you're really anal about registering it.Dude...I don't even have cable...

That's still a digital encoding process though, if I'm not mistaken, and any hacker worth their salt can change that. Not that I'm saying that's the case with your stuff, but speaking from my own personal experience (I've been a professional musician for 13 years) there really is nothing you can do on your own that's as effective as registering a piece of work with the big G.'89 325is S50 Track Montser

The thing is I can produce the original NEF format RAW image and the camera body it was shot with...That's still a digital encoding process though, if I'm not mistaken, and any hacker worth their salt can change that. this is all pointless though, I'd let it all slide...but I can't stand statements like this:
Now I really gotta go....I'm late. You should be expecting a call from John Mason... I'm keeping the picture...
...and I'm dropping the price to $225 each.

David,
I also dabble in photography a bit myself. Take a look some some of the images on the Carr Industries site, www.carindustries.com.
I used the X brace image from John Mason's website, where I was given privilege to use the image from John Mason personally. If this is such a big deal to you, I can take another picture(probably better!jk!).
Also, someone mentioned in an earlier post that Carr Industries is big in comparision. As an online store, we're pretty small. We have 2 guys running the online store and 2 guys in packaging. We're growing quickly and are really enjoying being apart of the bimmer community. Most of our business is service and repair work in the Triad, North Carolina area where we have 6 technicians, 2 parts specialists, etc.
Seriously though, I'll take another pic if you like.
