This is a totally ignorant question, but does the venting just vent to the other side of the mirror, or does it channel the air somewhere else?

I believe that they vent to the passenger compartment. If they do, I need to scratch up $300..

Race cars usually use the vent for air into the car.This is done for race cars with lexan windows. Our mirrors can be cut open for extra air but it is not needed for a street car.
