Luke, I think I have changed my mind on not cutting to get some bass in my vert. Let me know if you need it for measuring or visualizing or whatnot...I don't want the car to be the guinea pig for chopping it up, but yeah...it's free to use if you'll be nice to it and you know I'm nearby!

I have some piss poor measurements, taken in the dark by cell phone light, using a piece of paper as a ruler.
Might end up being a single 8, ported. I just have no clue yet!
Nice fucking brace, BTW.

500 RMS is pretty damn loud, JParker is runnign the single 10 box in 140RMS and his is pretty damn decent...
Basically 100 watts you will feel, 1000 watts and you will smoke woofers, so some where in the middle makes things very nice.
PS: your box left yesterday. Details in the PM box shortly.

Luke, I'm at a loss... I haven't a clue where to begin with my system build. What kind of power should I look for with regards to the amp?

E36 is gonna be a few weeks (in Luke time that means like 2013, after Rvvpocalypse) since some guys keep whining something about verts...and E28 guys are next.

BIG L!! My nig. Thought I'd drop a line and say hi, hope that entertained you enough. Hope WA is better than being across from Dunk's. All the posters here know this already, but Luke is a car stereo God, and literally I have a small gold statue I worship before any install, towel included.

The airspace on the 12" box is 2.0 cubic feet, the tuning is 32Hz, so it works very well for woofers with a Qtc under .45 and a fairly low Fs, like under 30Hz.
As far as an actual choice for woofer, it is also dependent on the amp, as you want to make sure you show the amp the impedance it makes the most power at.
The JBL woofers sound great, the Memphis work really well (M1 especially), Exile (of course) and many many others. This is a very easy design to work with. If you are OK with a kind of "boomy" sound (that I do not care for) you could go with some of the higher Qts woofers, like the Kicker CVR or the Alpine Type R or Type S...but I would stick with a lower Q to get cleaner bass.
