Dan was easy to deal with and held nothing back about the motor. He let me know right away that there was a slight ticking before the motor was pulled. Even though I was having lots of trouble with finding the time to make the trip up he said it wouldn't be a problem and that I could come by whenever. He did show up 5-10 minutes late but that gave me plenty of time to check out his 2 swapped e30's (s50's), and his other parts cars.
When it came time for the transaction he was no different, after we got done gossiping like little school girls over e30's he pulled the motor out to show me. I asked if he happened to have any 5 speed swap parts and next thing I knew he was digging through his parts warehouse (boxtruck) saying that he had 2 pedal sets. After he found one he scoffed and said there was a better one somewhere and proceeded to find it.
After acquiring more parts from his collection we started getting the motor in my GF's shitbox. Upon finding out I'm a moron and did not bring tie-downs, he went back in the shop and we "sourced" some things to get it in there nice and safe (Safe enough for me
).
So now I have an iX windshield washer reservoir, pedals, "My other car is an e30" magnet, and some other little trinkets I couldn't let go and the motor. He said "are you ok with $400 for the motor?", I said yes and he threw the rest in for free.
After the business was done it was all pleasure, Dan had my pants soaked with excitement the whole time. Literally soaked, with the puddle of water in his passenger seat (because racecar). His car was a blast and I'm thankful for him to have let me ride in my first s50 e30!
