VRSTLE aka Edwin Michael Schmidt - SCAMMER ALERT:

I'm fed up. I sent him payment for this FS ad http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=219353 dated 8/25/2011. I SENT $300 to emichaelschmidt@gmail.com on 8/26/2011.

And today I discovered that he actually put it up for sale again here last 11/30/2011: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=229507 using the same pics he sent me via email.

He gave all sorts of excuses why he couldn't ship it right away. When he did ship, my fault was not keeping an eye on the tracking number closely.

Since I had it shipped to my freight forwarder, I thought it got stuck somewhere in shipping limbo. When I finally inquired, my freight forwarder told me that he never received the bumpers.

In the end, it seems he shipped it to himself - somewhere in Steamboat Springs, CO. UPS tracking number 1z3r286v0375260986. He lists that as his location. He cannot offer any explanation despite my repeated requests for one.

It was only today that I bothered to check on his posting history.

I'm out $300. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. I have the PMs, e-mails, and paypal trail to prove it.

Did you gift him the money? PayPal?

Sorry for the loss, that really does suck.

Definitely sounds strange, but the original ad says that the bumpers are in Alexandria VA (near DC) even though his location shows Steamboat Springs. I believe he was in school in CO and his Mom live in VA or something like that.

(this is based on a transaction I had with him where he bought an iX auto tranny from me, wanted it shipped to CA, but I was suspicious because he said he was in CO, and the PP payment came from VA. It all worked out for me, but I asked some questions about the whole deal before shipping)

So why can't you get your money back? Did you wait too long?

it's usually only valid for 45-90 days or something like that. Pretty sure August 2011-March 2012 puts him outside the claim window. Paypal is a terrible terrible service for disputes.
