    Mario Langston-VSR

I'm not usually one to post negative experiences that i've had, because for the most part I think it's pretty useless and can tends to burn bridges. In this case though, I was pretty dissatisfied with Mario....who i've heard nothing but excellent things about.

    Item: E30 M3 front seats

    Shipped via: UPS Ground

    What I recieved...

    -Elevation handle is broken(passenger)
-Side handle is bent/broken beyond repair(driver)
    -2 white Clip/Guides-Thigh support are broken(driver)
    -Inside seat rail is bent(passenger)

Now, i'm aware that Mr. Langsten has been shipping seats out for several years, apparently with no issues, but the seats had maybe 2 small boxes supporting them, he's telling us "they were packed very well."

Shipping two seats, ~50lbs each in one box doesn't make the best of sense to me, but this is apparently how he's 'done it for years.'

I'm not out to damage a reputation, as much as I am trying to get some kind of reparation, which at this point he's not been offering as he's telling us 'it's out of his hands now.'

This seems to me like poor customer service, for a business that prides itself on pleasing the customer.

Done, unfortunately the box was accidently thrown away.

Trying to see if the packing sticker could be recognized enough to where they could use it.

Did you opt for insured shipping? No.
Have you Filed a UPS Claim?

I have shipped inumerable seats in the exact same manner. I have never had that problem. Your father works for UPS, have you spoken to him about the handling procedures by UPS? Perhaps you should look into filing a claim with the local UPS location to recieve compensation.

You barraged me with PM's/IM's almost daily, after I explicitly informed you NOT to contact me:
"I think I want the seats"
        "Are they available?"
        "How much"
        "Why havent they arrived?"
        "Did you get my payment?"
        "Why havent they arrived?"
        "I think I want them... should I?"

"THE BOX WAS ACCIDENTALLY THROWN AWAY"??!?!?!?!?!

You KNEW the box was damaged, YOUR father works for UPS, and yet you STILL proceeded to throw the box away? Now you wish to try and recieve compensation out of my father to cover your mistake when filing a claim?

Also, how well does it bode for your interpretation when you mis-spell the sellers name in the Thread Title?
You then proceed to claim you "are not out to damage his reputation" yet hope this will somehow manifest itself into some sort of "refund"....
Are you hoping to make him cave under the scrutiny of the public to giving into your desire for a monetary gain?

This is an issue between UPS and you. I shipped 60lb seats(apiece) to California, without issue packaged in the same manner. Please do not try and pass off poor handling as poor packaging.

        Thank you.

              Hey Chris,

Have to excuse the mispelling, have a buddy here who spells Langsten with an O

Anyway, i'll be the the last to pass off poor handling as poor packaging...but you consider 2 small boxes as proper packaging? The side handle was clearly just sitting on the side of the box....and all you need to do is take a peek at the exposed rails that are clearly jutting out to see that it was obviously not supported properly.

BTW, the package was insured for $500.

Also, I do want some compensation for your father's mistake of not packing the package properly.

Sorry to hurt your feelings, I just don't feel like taking the punch for his mistake.

Also, i'm not questioning your dad's creditability...just pointing out that he did indeed make a mistake packaging these, and you don't need to just 'pass off' poor packaging for just another mistake by a shipping carrier.

You paid for insurance for a reason.
You failed to adequately procure a claim within the requirements of UPS policy. Something which should have been supremely easy when one has a parent/close family member who works for the institution in question....correct?

You're not hurting my feelings at all. I am simply confronting you on a business issue which is being misconstrued and distorted in an attempt to make up for your short comings and inability to plan accordingly when filing the claim.

This is purely business, nothing personal.

                Respectfully,
                Christopher L.

Trevor, I don't mean to sound like I'm ganging up on you, but you're out of line here.

I understand you must be pretty pissed about the seats, everyone would. But the problem is, they sent seats in perfect condition. UPS did the damage.

Firstly, any time you're getting something expensive, you NEED to ask for insurance. Not asking for it, to save $3 is silly.

Secondly, how can you throw the box away? When something like this happens, you leave that shit packed up and don't touch it until the issue is resolved. You took all these pictures when you got it, then what did you do? Why not use the pictures to show UPS the damage?

Then you come on here to discredit a business. You try and take care to say you're not, but what other reason would you have for posting this on here. The only reason people post negative feedback online is to bully someone into getting their money back. Mario didn't do anything wrong. If they had sent you broken seats, then that'd be a different story.

Look at the box, it has Fragile all over it, this side up, etc... Just look at it. Does it look like it was handled with care? UPS messed this one up, you have to take it up with them.

P.S. I never use UPS anymore. They're all a bunch of a**'s. They're always late and they damage everything. Ever watch those jerks handle packages?

EDIT: You paid for insurance? UPS messed up? How hard is it to file a claim the day it comes damaged?

You say you're not trying to damage anyone's reputation, but what in the hell do you mean by:
Also, I do want some compensation for your father's mistake of not packing the package properly.
                  You're pretty rude man. Sorry.

I'll take the blame for the UPS deal...but, my dad (who does work for UPS) has relayed to me that their excuse will most definitely be insufficient packing, and they're crystal clear out of the deal. Also, people would be surprised how little UPS employees get in the form of discounts/string pulling, you're still treated as a customer.

Mitchell Morrison(Mitch M) who's been in a very similar situation, went through the same deal.

Listen, i'm not asking for new seats man...but there should be some kind of reparation for your dad's mistake. When I posted this, I never attempted to drag you into the deal, so please don't take it that way.

Chris, i'm not affected by the 'ganging up' you're speaking of...UPS probably handled the package as they usually do, probably not in the most careful fashion....but then what do you expect shipping a 100lb box that's insufficiently packed?
