If the box was handled as instructed - carefully, as in the package is FRAGILE as labelled - the seats would have made it fine. They really must have beat on them to break the things they did - regardless of packing.
You threw away the box. Had you kept it, you probably would have been reimbursed, and even would have kept the seats. So now it's YOUR fault for not being prepared and careful - not UPS or VSR.
