Poor customer service from an indvidual @ ECS Tuning

Called to make an order for some rims. Sales person was extremely short on the phone, had a annoyed tone of a voice from the beginning, and not helpful whatsoever. The rims I wanted had been on sale for 30 dollars off and free shipping during christmas, but I decided to by suspension components from them instead and couldn't afford both. Today I saw free shipping for orders over 200 dollars on their website, but didn't know it wasn't for oversized items. Upon learning this I told the sales man I guess I can wait, since they were on sale and had free shipping during Christmas. He replied "they won't go on sale again, that was a christmas promo." He made 0 effort to save the sale, and acted very rude during the whole conversation. I have spent hundreds of dollars with them, even after they let my credit information possibly get stolen. I've spent thousands on my car in the last year, and was going to drop my tax return this year on it as well, but I guess not with ecstuning. I realize polite customer service isn't important to everyone, but it is to me.

Costs at least $100 to ship 4 rims. With that when they discount the wheels, their margin of profit is very small anyway, then if they were to ship it free to you, they would be losing money.

LOL. That is nothing. That is less than $1000, and if their margin of profit is 30%, so they made less than $300 from you. And if you are thrifty customers only interested in items on sale, they don't make much profit on people like that so they tend to be rude.

I was not asking for a discount as well, just free shipping. Also, you mean to tell me during Christmas time they are just shipping all these orders out without any profit? No business model works that way, unless they are trying to get rid of old inventory, which they obviously aren't.

So let me get this straight. If I don't spend enough money at your store that means you should/can be rude to me? 300 dollars profit isn't a large amount of money? You must be rolling in it then... This mentality here is why customer service has gone to crap in general. I work hard for my money, and expect the people I spend it with to appreciate my business.

Your response has done nothing to justify their customer service. This is simply a warning to people who expect friendly customer service when they are spending a large chuck of hard earned money. I did not receive that, so I made this post. Thanks for you time; Sorry you wasted it.

They were free shipping wheels over christmas? Dang I missed out on that one, I picked up a set of Alzor 010s (the BBS RS rep) for a song and a dance but still had to pay shipping.

Sorry, but with all due respect it sounds like he put it succinctly. Sounds like he even helped you out by letting you know the wheels wouldn't be going back on sale to keep you waiting for the moment to compound promotions, he certainly could have said nothing and let you wait for an eternity.

Yes, it may have been nice if he was polite, but I have no presumptions about expecting everyone to be cheery all the time; especially if I was asking for "discounts discounts discounts".

You don't understand how retail business works. Items get discounted and go on sale to generate more customer flow. Customer will buy the discounted item but something else also, it stimulates sale of all items. That is how christmas sale works. Inventory means nothing, there is a 2015 model BMW sale going on right now at your local BMW dealer. LOL.

So let me get this straight. If I don't spend enough money at your store that means you should/can be rude to me?
Yes. I work in retail, we have asked some people not to come anymore. They have a right to refuse service to time wasting customer, happens all the time. Not all retailers are walmart.

300 dollars profit isn't a large amount of money?
No. when you spread it over several years, time spent dealing with thrifty customer will eat up that profit fast.

            .
Some people expect brownnosing buttkissing from every retailer they go to and anything short of that is considered by them a very bad customer service.

I've spent thousands at ECS tuning, never had a problem, either with chat or on the phone. Maybe the guy just had a bad day?

Yeah man it was a good deal. I had to make a choice, and I chose suspension. At this point I won't be doing business with them anymore. However, you should post some pictures of the rims on your car. I had a hard time finding people here who had those rims when I was looking to purchase them, even though they sold enough to put them on back order.

This is definitely a possibility. Its unfortunate that I had to be helped by him. It may not be a reflection of the company. I had a fine time with the person I ordered my suspension from.

Yeah it would of been nice, but I don't think I was asking too much since they had offered this deal before + extra money off (which I wasn't asking for).

I will be changing the name of this thread, since I feel people think I'm slamming ECS. It is obviously a poor experience with a single person there, not the company as a whole.
