Man that sucks.....but it is a risk one takes buying an engine sight-unseen. Kinda like buying stuff off of eBay sometimes. It would've been ideal if you could have heard the motor run (in the car it came from) prior to making the deal. Unfortunately, that luxury seldomly presents itself at the right moment.
Thanks for the heads up. This guy is worthy of being blacklisted.

CHPAHOY -- buyer Beware!
bought an s50b30 offa Ken aka CHPAHOY, he seemed very nice and honest while making the transaction. he even delivered the motor from socal to SanFran for a small fee, however when the motor arrived it was missing various parts, despite being advertised as COMPLETE LONGBLOCK. i got him to knock-off $100 from asking price on the spot, and he QUICKLY agreed.
a few weeks later i started opening up the motor only to discover the motor had a blown headgasket, and needed a rebuild. i tried to contact Ken for about a week, no response. this leads me to beleive he knew of the condition, and was trying to avoid me. motor was $2650, rebuild has cost me ~$4000. i could have bought a REBUILT s50 w/ warranty for that kinda money.
after asking around with a few other reputable users from this forum, i have discovered that Ken has a reputation for being shady, and underhanded. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN. i dont know his last name, but he goes by CHPAHOY on a couple forums, his name is KEN from the Santa Barbara, CA area, and his email is: ken.alexisguerrier@verizon.netLeave a comment:
