Many people don't buy cars from across the nation because, at least I thought, it is very intimidating or scary (if I might say) to get a car shipped. It seems like a ton of money and you never know what could happen when its being transported.
So I will make a suggestion, Best Rate Freight Service. The people were very helpful and they were half of what other companies were because they strictly deal with Owner/operator truckers.
I put my order in on a friday, thinking that it wouldn't go into the system until Monday, well Saturday (yes the NEXT day) the driver calls me and is ready to pick up the car. It took him about 3 to 4 days to get me the car.
The driver, although I doubt you can ask for him haha, was EXTREMELY helpful and was awesome to deal with.
For a running 318i I got 13 qoutes from different companies:
the first 12 qoutes were from $650 to $1200...I was very concerned and was never going to get a car at the rate
And then....I get the 13th qoute and to get the car shipped from the most East part of VA to the Most West part of Ohio it was $325!
I made sure this was accurate and man was it WORTH it. All the drivers have insurance. They all do Pre-trip/post trip evaluations.
I was able to ship the car for $400 including the $75 tip because my car stopped running for a short while because it needed a new battery.
Here is their website. I would recommend calling them and setting it up, you just feel more in touch with the transaction.
You can get open or closed services but obviously closed is going to be alittle more money.
