Engine Swap into E30 Transmission Setup

    Hello Engine Swap Experts,

I am interested in getting back into an E30 after a 15yr hiatus and this time I'd like a little more power. I plan to swap in a new motor. If the goal is for as clean a swap as possible how important is the original transmission if I am planning on swapping in both a new motor and new 6spd?

If the E30 receiving a transplant was originally an automatic what would be different? Clutch Pedal assembly would need to be acquired and accommodated. Is the rear end the same?

    Thank you,
    I

You'll need a new driveshaft. Rear end will work

If I were you, I would get a ZF tranny from a 98 328, link it with the same driveshaft and grab a set of pedals.

You should be good with that setup, although it is a 5 speed, not too informed on 6 speed swaps.
