So after doing the M50 swap in a late model e30 (1991) i went to replicate on a 1985 e30. Now that its coming to wiring i don't see how the connector is going to plug into the 1985 im not seeing one in the fuse box. after some research im seeing the fuse boxes are different. Can i swap out for a late model fuse box? any links or advice to steer me in the right direction?

Are you talking about the round c101 plug?
Early cars don't have that plug, there is a rectangle connector on the fender side of the fuse-box, that what you'll need to make an adapter for, that is what I did, no problems -

If you would like an adapter, I can get one made for you. I have those connectors in stock, so you don't have to send me yours.Comment

I think this connector is the same as the E21. I have the same issue but I believe wiring is quite simple. Biggest problems are when there are differences due to year and accesoires.
This is what i gathered so far, don't take my word for it because mine isn't done yet.

E21 is different. You might be thinking of the e28Comment
