    Vanos Removal - S50 euro

I want to remove my vanos for an irritating oil leak that seems to be originating from the seal to the head/cam box.

Any pointers on how exactly to remove the vanos without affecting timing???

i have the bmw TIS system, it looks quite simple there but i want to know from anyone who has done this before.

I have the s50 euro so its a single vanos.....

Euro S50's have Dual Vanos. S50B30US has single VANOS, intake side. You must be confused.

You could just fix the oil leak, rather than removing a beneficial system that keeps torque available throughout the rev range.

I think he just wants to take the VANOS unit off to be able to fix the leak, not actually remove the VANOS from the motor completely.
