So after some sleuthing around, am I correct in assuming the 0280155832 Volvo injector is the current replacement offered on Turner and BW?

To replace the S52 pink injectors? The volvo one flows a bit more. 21.5 vs 24.8... maybe that is enough to make a difference? -
Way back when, 24lb injectors were often paired with schrick cams on the s50/2. Depending on where you sourced the injectors, they may have been rated for 24lb/hr@3 Bar (like these Volvo units) despite the fuel rail pressure regulator supplying 3.5 Bar. To avoid rolling coal I'm going to bail on my TMS chip for 24lb/cams, go to 21.5 lb and get new tuning. There is no chance my 3.0 will max out the 21.5 even with bumpsticks.
This was all an exercise to avoid the cam tax on the old dinosaur chips (sad obd1 noises).Comment

I would also suggest a proper tune over the good ole days of rising-rate fuel pressure regulators. The hard part is finding someone close that is willing to work with tuning software they are not familiar with.Comment
